The national Committee of Germany for tourism (GNTB) is now accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency as payment for their services.
“We are constantly exploring new technologies and consider their applicability in our organization. Thus we position ourselves as an innovator and leader of tourism industry”, – said General Director of GNTB Peter Hedorfer.
Payments in bitcoin will start to take in March of this year. The Committee also intends to implement blockchain technology in international payments and other financial services. According to the manual, the blockchain technology can provide high-speed, transparency and security of financial transfers.
As the national Council for tourism, based in Frankfurt, the GNTB is subordinate to the Federal Ministry of Economics and energy where he also received funding. GNTB aims to develop and promote strategies and products to position Germany as an attractive place for tourism. To this end, the organization operates 32 agencies abroad.
At the end of February 2018 Federal Ministry officially recognized cryptocurrency legal tender based on the decision of the court of the European Union 2015 “On value added tax (VAT)” Germany intends to cooperate with the EU and other countries in the formation of rules for trading platforms and ICO. These events have created favorable conditions for the adoption of bitcoin in the country.
In late February, the Federal financial Supervisory authority of Germany informed investors about the risks associated with investing in initial offers of coins and said legal obligation to ICO.
