The largest underground shopping Mall in South Korea – Goto Mall, in partnership with local cryptocurrency exchange, has started to accept bitcoin in all of its 620 stores.

Goto Mall, bitcoin Mecca?

The largest underground shopping Mall in South Korea, called Goto Mall, recently announced that it will begin to accept bitcoin. According to local media since mid-December, customers will be able to pay with bitcoin in all 620 stores shopping centre.

Goto Mall – the largest in the Seoul underground shopping center. The length of this shopping center is almost 1 kilometer, and every day it is visited by about half a million people. In the centre are shops where you can buy almost everything.

The Mall is located in the heart of one of the largest interchanges of Seoul – it passes through several bus routes, including those from airports, and metro routes 3, 7 and 9. In the near future patency of the shopping centre should be increased even more.

Partnership with HTS Coin

To begin to accept bitcoin, Goto Mall has partnered with local cryptocurrency exchanger HTS Coin. The exchange, which opened last month, has developed a smart-payment system using cryptocurrencies and the recently launched mobile app.

According to Kyeonggi, the shopping center had previously tested bitcoin as a payment option, but then the shop owners took bitcoin directly. However, the experiment was discontinued, as shop owners “often lost their passwords and could not use cryptocurrency,” now, after the system has been from HTS Coin such problems can be avoided.

Bitcoin will be offered along with other payment methods accepted in the Mall, such as cash, credit card and Alipay.
