According to local media Nikkei Asian Review Japanese branch of the Internet giant Yahoo! open cryptocurrency exchange “in April of 2019 or later.”
According to Nikkei Asian Review, a Japanese branch of Yahoo! next month is going to acquire 40% of the cryptocurrency exchanges BitARG Tokyo Exchange and will immediately begin preparations to launch its own cryptocurrency exchange.
The purchase of shares BitARG will be made through Tokyo YJFX, a subsidiary of Yahoo. 40% of shares will cost 2 billion yen ($19 million).
Thus in the Japanese market of cryptocurrency exchanges will be another company.
From April 2017, the Japanese government began work on the licensing of cryptocurrency exchanges and exchange of the country. At the moment, 16 companies are working in the market on a license basis, including such major players as SBI Group.
BitARG received a license from the Japanese regulator (FSA) in December 2017.
Recall that today the FSA appealed to the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance with a request to suspend its activities in Japan, as the company is not licensed to operate on the territory of this country.
