Scotland offers cryptocurrency traders to undergo psychiatric treatment

Hospital in Scotland treats people who are prone to trade cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

At Castle Craig Hospital in Peebleshire, Scotland, has developed a treatment for “cryptonalysis” to teach them to deal with their addictions.

Experts believe that trade digital assets such as Bitcoin could one day become a behavioral addiction, like gambling online games.

At the moment, the institution is already engaged in treatment for drug dependence and alcoholism, but, according to them, it’s time to add to the list dependent on the cryptocurrency. In developing the program used the same methods as courses in therapeutic from addiction to gambling.

Castle Craig Hospital saying that accurate data on the number of users, addicted to cryptocurrencies, not yet, but we know that about 13 million people worldwide are traded on cryptocurrency exchanges.

Chris Byrne, the therapist involved in the treatment of gambling addiction in the hospital Castle Craig, said:

“The volatility of the cryptocurrency market carries psychological risk for the trader. It can lead to deviant behavior .the escape from reality. Bitcoin, for example, brought as huge profits as catastrophic losses, which could deal a serious blow to the psyche in both cases. This is a classic situation with bubbles”.

Certain procedures the center will be Tony Marini, a former gambler and drug addict:

“Having been through this myself, I understand and sympathize with others who have the same problem. I see cryptocurrency trading is a way for people to escape from himself into another world, because they don’t like the one in which they are located.”

The first stage of treatment — to join the other addicts in group therapy and share their life stories. This will help to better know each other and understand that they are not alone.
