Sberbank and the Federal Antimonopoly service officially implemented the blockchain for the exchange of documents

In Russia officially implemented the blockchain technology at the state level. Sberbank announced today the cooperation with the Federal Antimonopoly service of Russia (FAS) to implement the transmission and storage of documentation via the blockchain. About it reported in a press release of the credit organization.

This step represents the first case of a direct public use technologies of distributed registries.

There is now experimental-industrial operation of digital communication in which the information and documents exchanged by the FAS of Russia with Sberbank successfully transferred and stored encrypted using blockchain technology and certified in the Russian Federation of means of cryptography.

“The country opens up new opportunities for the economy through the use of advanced knowledge and technology. The government adopted a Program “the Digital economy of the Russian Federation”. The President instructed to promptly determine the status of digital technologies associated with the use of the blockchain. The Russian government for several years has a strong interest in promoting blockchain technology in the country. In June of this year, President Vladimir Putin met with Ethereum Creator Vitalik Baterina. In August, the Bank signed an agreement with the Ethereum Foundation on the development of educational programs in the blockchain in the country.

However, the official position of the government regarding the use of cryptocurrency ordinary citizens remains relatively strict.
