Ripple entered into an agreement with one of its largest clients of the Santander Group. The company announced the launch of a mobile application for easy sending international payments.
According to Finextra, the British division of the Bank tested this app for 18 months using Apple Pay for payments from 10 to 10,000 pounds ($14 – $14 000).
Ripple mobile app will be launched in Spain, Brazil, USA and Poland.
About the company Santander said in its report for the year 2017.
According to the presentation, customers will be able to use the app for making international payments in less than a minute. The app also offers a digital wallet, a personal Manager for Finance and help in making payments.
Press Secretary of Santander said:
“We plan to launch the app in the coming months, and can confirm that they intend to use the platform xCurrent in the project”.
It is noteworthy that the Ripple platform xCurrent does not use tokens XRP.
The Executive Director of Ripple brad Garlinghouse reported the news to his followers on Twitter, noting that the app will be launched this quarter:
“After the successful completion of the pilot project, Santander will launch a mobile app Ripple, which in this quarter will allow Bank customers to make cash transfers at the international level just in one click and in seconds”.
