Samsung SDS, the IT division of South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung announced its plans to create a blockchain-based platform for public sector.
According to local newspaper the Korea Herald, Samsung SDS has signed an agreement with the municipality of Seoul, which will help him to develop a plan for “information strategy” is the introduction of blockchain technology in the field of maintenance of everyday life, public safety and transportation until 2022.
CEO of Samsung SDS Won Pyo Hong, said:
“The technology of blockchain and the possibility of Samsung SDS consulting will help Seoul become a progressive city in the world”.
The city is also planning to use the blockchain with the aim of increasing transparency of processes and improving the quality of life of residents.
