A senior official from the Commission on securities and stock exchanges of the USA (SEC) has officially confirmed that her organization is investigating the activities and circumstances for tens ICO.
Thursday Stephanie Avakian (Avakian Stephanie), co-Director of one Department of the SEC, during his speech at the conference, Investment Adviser Association, which was held in Washington, stated that her organization maintains dozens of cases related to cryptocurrency and ICO. Avakian also said that the staff of the Commission are well aware of the gigantic amount of work that lies before them in connection with the emergence of “cryptomeria”.
We are very active, I expect the number of investigations will increase.
The rumors that the SEC is conducting an investigation in respect of many ICO, appeared at the beginning of this month. While most of these cases were initiated last year.
Representatives of the SEC has previously stated that they are looking for signs of illegal activity, paying particular attention to sales of tokens. Of particular interest to the Agency are “simple agreement for future tokens” (SAFT), which are effectively a promise to issue tokens in the future in exchange for immediate funding.
