Japanese bitcoin exchange bitFlyer has officially announced the beginning of work in the U.S. after receiving the approval of regulators, including the Department of financial services of the state of new York (NYDFS).
The official launch of the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange in the US took place a few months after the company first announced plans to expand their business. Then it was announced that the startup has received permission to work in 34 States.
Along with a message about the launch of the new site bitFlyer announced that it received a license from the new York regulators ‘ Regulations. Formalized in 2015, the program Regulations were an early attempt to regulate companies working with digital currencies in the country.
BitFlyer CEO Yuzo Kano said:
“BitFlyer is proud to announce the receipt of a license to conduct business in the state of new York. This was to be the seal of approval of one of the most influential state financial regulators of the country.”
Initially, the exchange has only been available for bitcoin trading, however, bitFlyer has promised to increase the number of crypto assets in the future.
