Custodial service Coinbase is considering adding 37 new assets, including XRP, EOS and XMR

Coinbase said that it is studying the possibility of adding about 40 new assets in your custodial service Coinbase Custody.

The blog post stresses that these cryptocurrency assets can be added “just for storage” and that Coinbase will add them as fast as possible. Coinbase States that they currently do not consider the possibility of trading these assets:

About the same time learned within the company and beyond. Thus, we want to remain transparent to the community.

Among the new assets that are considered for storage, – Ripple (XRP), EOS, Monero (XMR), VeChain (VEN), Cardano (ADA), Bitcoin Gold (BTG) and Telegram.

Coinbase noted that asset additions in Coinbase Custody does not mean that it will be added to other products and services of Coinbase. It also indicates that the assets which are considered for trading, must pass GDAX Digital Asset Framework.

The statement also said that soon customers can notice the emergence of new assets in the API and other indicators that will say that the company is in the process of adding new digital assets. Coinbase “… can not say exactly when these assets will become available in the Coinbase Custody, we will provide this information to our clients later…”

Coinbase Custody is a service that aims to solve the problem “number one” for institutional investors, namely the problem of security. The new service involves the use of a number of security measures, including “Autonomous, geographically distributed, transaction-protected” and “reliable auditing and reporting cold storage”. The company also plans to add “a safe, separate hot wallets”.
