Bitmain formally announced the opening of a store in Rockdale, Texas, and early next year it is planned to engage in mining in the region.
The firm confirmed Monday that it is investing $ 500 million over the next seven years to a new datacenter in the USA in the framework of its “strategic plan of investment and expansion in North America.” The facility will employ about 400 employees. Bitmain also intends to launch educational and training programs for potential employees.
Rumors that Bitmain are planning to open this object first appeared last month when a local newspaper reported that the company purchased the former plant for the smelting of aluminium. But officials at the time were unable to confirm these data.
Chinese mining company, estimated at about $ 12 billion, has posted job ads on the website Indeed.com.
In addition to the expansion activities in the US, Bitmain is also planning to open offices in Brazil and in Switzerland and in Israel.
