Bing search from Microsoft has joined other Internet giants announcing that it will ban in your network advertising associated with cryptocurrencies, by July 2018.
According to an official blog post made on may 15, the main reason for the company’s decision to ban “advertising of crypto-currencies” and “products related to cryptocurrency”, is the current unregulated status of the issue that allegedly increases the risk for users of Bing:
“Because cryptocurrencies and related products not regulated, we believe they represent an increased risk to our users and potential opportunity for the bad guys to commit fraud”.
The report further States that the tool Bing Ads plans to fully implement the ban worldwide since June of this year.
Banned from Bing was the last step in the boycott of search engines and social media, initiated by Facebook in late January of this year. In mid-March, Google announced a similar ban and, soon, joined in and Twitter.
While last week several popular publications reported on research conducted by Facebook to launch its own cryptocurrency.
Earlier in April, one of the founders of LinkedIn, Eric Lee, expressed the view that the prohibitions on advertising of crypto-currencies, most likely a temporary measure related to the lack of clear regulation of the cryptocurrency market.
